existencia de l&#8217;Alc\u00fadia de Crespins no se puede explicar sin el nacimiento del <strong>R\u00edo dels Sants<\/strong>, m\u00e1s conocido como <strong>R\u00edo Nou<\/strong>. Nace muy cerca del municipio, pasa por Canals y desemboca en el r\u00edo C\u00e0nyoles. Hace dos siglos el c\u00e9lebre bot\u00e1nico <em>Antoni J. Cavanilles<\/em> dec\u00eda que era el nacimiento m\u00e1s caudaloso del reino. El <em>r\u00edo Nou<\/em> nutre su caudal del <em>Macizo del Caroig<\/em> y proporciona agua mediante cinco acequias para el riego agr\u00edcola, para proveer a los m\u00faltiples lavaderos p\u00fablicos y privados que exist\u00edan, as\u00ed como para uso dom\u00e9stico en muchas poblaciones de la ca\u00f1averales, arbustos, adelfas, olmos, encinas, pinos y hierbas arom\u00e1ticas como romero o pebrella. Entre la fauna presente destacan espinillas, carpas, murci\u00e9lagos, liebres, halcones, \u00e1guilas o cern\u00edcalos.
